Here are some tips to help you pass your Smog Check:
1) Use the same gasoline. Some people suggest you use a higher or lower octane, but its best to run your car on the same gas you use daily.
2) Do an oil change. This is not always necessary but fresh oil and a new oil filter will always help your car run better. People should do this more often anyways.
3) Make sure your Check Engine Light is OUT! We can't do a Smog Check if its on, so fix that first.
4) Bring your renewal notice in with you. We can send it in for you. We can look you up, but its quicker if you have all the information that is on your renewal notice. This will make it quicker for you. I try to get you in and out in less than 25 minutes. Sometimes 20, but I try.
5)Drive your car for a while before you come in. For most people just driving to A1 Smog is enought to warm it up. But a warm car will run smoother and that is good.
6) Some suggest a fuel additive helps you pass your Smog Check. If your car is kept in good running order, check you liquid levels regularly you should be just fine.
7) Keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure may help, my jury is still out on this one, but it best for the car so check your tires.
